Assessment and Treatment Providers for DWI and/or Drug Violations

I advise most of my clients charged with driving while impaired, underage drinking, or minor drug violations to obtain a substance abuse assessment prior to court. I frequently recommend that clients also follow up on the treatment recommendations. There are a number of agencies in Wake County that provide substance abuse assessment and treatment programs. Anyone of these agencies will provide the same service by way of the substance abuse assessment.

Individuals who do not reside in Wake County will usually find it more convenient to obtain an assessment and participate in treatment in their home areas. A list of assessment and treatment providers for other areas in North Carolina is available online.

Out of state clients can resort to the local yellow pages for information regarding agencies that provide the assessment and treatment programs necessary. Generally, local health departments will always provide substance abuse assessment and treatment programs, but there are many private agencies that provide the same service.
